The Idea
I’m Daniel — a Swede shaped by the rugged Nordic outdoors, where nature, adventure, hunting, and cooking have always been a way of life.
As an engineer and lifelong builder of software and businesses, I’ve spent years building things. But I always carried a dream of developing my own product.
One rainy day, deep in the forest, that dream finally took shape. I had an idea: a smart, simple tool that could help people like me reconnect with the ancient art of drying meat — a tradition practiced for thousands of years, long before technology existed.
That moment became the beginning of this journey. A blend of engineering and heritage. Innovation and tradition. And a passion for bringing back the timeless craft of preserving food, made accessible for everyone.
From Concept to Creation
To bring the idea to life, I headed to my “lab” — the garage.
That’s where I began testing the fundamental challenges. How could I track and predict everything that matters? Could I really build something this advanced with a battery life that lasts more than a year? And how could I make it affordable?
I designed the electronics, wrote the first version of the software, and built the app. The prototype proved that the idea worked — but it was only the beginning.
Crafting the Design
Creating a high-quality product rooted in craftsmanship and Nordic design didn’t happen by accident — it came from collaboration.
To bring this vision to life, I teamed up with my friends at Fjaryl, whose decades of experience in industrial design, human interaction, and engineering helped shape the product into something truly enduring.
Refined Through Use
We aim for nothing less than perfection.
That’s why we spend months testing our product in every possible condition — out in the field, in every season, and with every kind of user, from the curious beginner to the seasoned master.
We would never have reached our goal without the support of people like Göran, Momma, Fabian, Micke, Tor, Felix, Peter and many others who shared their skills, knowledge, and patience throughout the journey.
And of course, after all the meat, we made sure to eat a bit of fish as well along the way.
